Jean Webster was the pen name of Alice Jane Chandler Webster who was born and lived most of her life in New York State. Daddy-Long-Legs was not her first book, but it is the one for which she is mostly remembered. Some of her books are Jeny Junior,The Four- Pools Mystery, Much Ado About Peter, Dear Enemy, When Patty Went To College, Just Patty.
